The Room With A View

Our Sunroom FORTYEIGHT

Half Assed.

Beautiful Morning. Rainy season...expect rain in the afternoon.

Monday July 2, 2007

0845.

Two Nice Guys guys show up...drop off some insulation rolls on site, then at 0900 leave for their headquarters to retrieve forgotten tools. 0930 they're back. Insulation starts going up...repair work to door sill begins.

At 1015 two more Nice Guys guys appear, using their own ladder they go up on the roof.

Here's some of what went into this sunroom today.

No chance to photograph Cricket built up on the roof today. Tarp was installed as soon as they finished for the day...it looked like rain was coming. It did! Or was it a cover up?

Intermediate Ridge Beam Post. Post Cap is supposed to be on the top. Straps not called for. Should be another Simpson special device for anchoring post to concrete wall. See Keypoints.
Through bolts not used to join LVL Ridge Beam with hewn lumber ridge beam. Used Lag Bolts instead.

Insulation between rafters. Well done.

Concrete patch-up of door sill...seems form wasn't long enough to do the entire thing. At least it comes off directly at same level as the floor. Bet remaining touch up will be left to the stucco gang. Butchers to the end. Everything Half-Assed.

Enthusiasm dwindling...mine totally...the guys? There never was any.

Will they return tomorrow?.
